Bluegrass Barbecue in Moody

My husband and I stopped in for a quick lunch on a Saturday. Our first clue should have been very low attendance for a noon lunch. I had the smoked turkey sandwich called The Gobbler which had zero flavor and was dry. I also had the fried green tomatoes as my side and they had zero taste and the breading was awful. My husband had the Moonshine chicken. His chicken breasts were smaller than a deck of cards and were cold. We were very disappointed with our meals considering our lunch was almost $30! We won’t be back.

Good variety. Enjoy supporting multi-generation family business. Lately my favorite is the huge football-sized baked potato with BBQ meat & toppings piled over it — 2 meals for sure!

The smell of smoke gets your mouth watering when you walk in the door. The staff were super friendly and the food was amazing. We tried the fried pies for dessert and they did not disappoint! Highly recommend!

Thats what you call a jumbo BBQ sandwich!!! And Omg its freaking so good.. Hands down best bbq in the world. Prices no higher than a burger combo from other fast food places. Awesome staff. Serve beer... And cornhole games on friday nite..

Love the food here! The BBQ is delicious! Veggies are good, yummy soups (Brunswick is my fave) and the desserts are fantastic although the servings are a bit small for the cost on a to-go dessert. Always a very welcoming atmosphere & a great group of employees! A Moody "must try" for all! Keep up the good work guys!

We ordered a rib plate, a bar b que baked potato, and banana pudding tonight and nothing about this meal was good. The potato wasn’t cooked, the ribs were so tough it was almost not edible, and the banana pudding was watery and the bananas were rotten. Wouldn’t recommend.

I had baked beans, potato salad and pulled pork and cornbread. As good a barbecue plate as I've ever had.

The first time I ordered to go in the bar, I ended up somehow talking with the owner and he explained to me how the place came to be, his philosophy, etc. It was a very nice, welcome place to be. And to top it off, the food was great, too.

I love me some bbq they have the best tasting sauce i believe I've ever tasted i really don't think it matters what you get IT'S ALL GOOD!!

Has to be the worst BBQ I've ever had. The ribs were flavourless and so were the sides that we got. Didn't have one but four or five servers. One of the servers had no product knowledge. Not once was I asked did I enjoy my meal. Had a convenience charge. Very unhappy with what we got as a family. One will spend less at Jim and Nick's and get better food.

Food is always delicious but we ordered dinner from there at 6pm and at 8:30 we are still waiting for delivery. Very disappointed and hungry. We called twice and the person in the phone was not helpful.

Everything was great. We were too full for desert. The owners were friendly and let us know they do delivery. There was an outdoor space to eat as well. The atmosphere was cozy. The inside was clean. We will visit again.

Went with my brother and sister in law for Friday Night Steak Night. My 1st time to try their steak and I wasn't disappointed!! Grilled and seasoned just perfect !! I had just ate steak the night before at another competition restaurant and thought it was good, but Kenny Crutchfield put the magic touch on this one and it was the best I have ever had!!! My sister in law had the nachos with chicken and my brother had the bbq sandwich and they both said they were great!! We got the Orange Rolls and they would absolutely melt in your mouth!!! Can't wait to go back again!!!

A little hole in the wall, with a great atmosphere and superb service. However the main attraction, the BBQ, left much to be desired.I have always used brisket for comparison. I expect juiciness, tenderness, and smokiness. I got one of the three from Bluegrass. My pictured serving had no smokiness to it. In fact, it tasted boiled. Not much taste at all. I had to add sauce to juicy it up.The house-made sauce is vinegar based, thick, and pretty smooth, even though I am more of a sweet sauce guy.I had greens and BBQ beans as my sides. The greens were delicious, slightly tart, with just enough pork to flavor it up. The beans tasted like doctored up canned beans with pork, bell peppers, onions and brown sugar.Overall, a bit disappointing because of the brisket let down.
